ABOUT US

Each year, Evrything Africa aims to bring together the U.S.-based pan-African community in the DMV for an entire weekend of cultural exchange.

The purpose of our conference is to find ways to invest back into our native communities and share our varied cultures in ways that will change people's perceptions of Africa and how they respond to it.

 

Our 3-day event will be held in Washington D.C., home to one of the most diverse African communities in the U.S.

Recipient of BET's 2022 Shine A Light Award, Luke Lawal Jr. is CEO and founder of L & Company, a minority-based corporation in Los Angeles, California. Having founded and established a diverse portfolio of business ventures, the millennial is passionate about entrepreneurship, specifically amongst young professionals, and giving back to his community in an effort to grow the next generation of leaders. Luke’s first foray into entrepreneurship began in 2011 during his undergraduate career at Bowie State University when he founded HBCU Buzz, a promotional and progressive brand created to generate awareness of HBCU collegiate culture. 

DIASPORA ENGAGEMENT  PANEL

This panel brings together leaders in the diaspora communities of DMV and beyond to explore the type of opportunities for diasporas to invest in the economies of our native communities and reverse "brain drain" into "brain gain" - transfer skills and knowledge back to the continent. It covers diverse perspectives in business, communication, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, travel, allyship, sustainability, program development and much more.
